Thailand Travel - Chiang Mai

Chiang Mai is one of the most beautiful destinations in Thailand. Over a million visitors visit the area each year and many of these visitors return. The city is the largest and the most culturally significant of northern Thailand and is the capital of Chiang Mai Providence.

Some of the most famous temples include the war Phrathat Doi Suthep, Wat Chiang Man, and Wat Umong. While Phrathat Wat Doi Suthep temple is placed high on a hill, Wat Umong is a cave in a forest. There is so much variety in Buddhist temples that you would not believe!

People living in the area is some of the nicest in the country. They are used to benefit travelers and tourist dollars. The nightlife in the area is quieter than some of the most brawlers such as Bangkok or Pattaya. The area is more of a family tracing a wild party area, which can be an advantage to some people.

Shopping is a necessity if you travel to this area. There are night markets and the weekend to make big business and cheap souvenirs. On Sunday afternoons there is a fantastic food market located in the path of Rachadamnoen, which is the main road in the historic center. In many markets you can find all of the artwork, handmade items, the views fantastic. Search and you will find some great deals to show off when you get home!
